Play Shows, Make Fans

The Art and Craft of Delivering
Powerful Performances that Turn Audiences Into Fans

The ability to deliver a powerful performance isn’t a secret. It is a skill — and like every skill, it can be learned.

Book cover of Play Shows, Make Fans

You can sing... but turning strangers into fans?

Nobody taught you how to do that.

People enjoy your show, but word doesn't spread and your fan base doesn't grow. You look at artists who always draw a crowd, and you suspect they know something you don’t.

Play Shows, Make Fans teaches you the missing skills. You’ll learn:

  • How to find your “it” factor

  • How to make people want to come to your shows

  • How to make the audience feel the emotion in your songs

  • How to stand and move like the pros

  • How to talk using the seven types of stage banter

  • How to take your audience on a journey

  • How to read a room and truly connect with your audience

You’ll start delivering a Show… with a capital S. In other words, a Show that will have your audience telling their friends, “You have to come see this!”

If you want tickets to sell themselves and your audience to grow organically, you need to read this book.

Meet the Authors

Justin Leighton Long filmed and analyzed his band’s performances starting when he was 13 and continuing through national tours of his band No Address, which was signed to Atlantic Records.

As they toured with the likes of 3 Doors Down, Breaking Benjamin, Theory of a Deadman, and Shinedown, they tweaked their show each night and measured success by merchandise and CD sales.

Once Justin understood the interactions between artists and their audiences, he started coaching, getting many artists and bands signed to various record labels. Justin is now is the artist development coach at Performance High Voice and Music Studio, working with clients across the country to develop and improve their shows.

Adrienne Osborn achieved certification as one of Nashville-based Tom Jackson's Live Music Method coaches in 2012.

Justin and Adrienne have played hundreds of shows together for fifteen years. They still share a passion for constantly analyzing and tweaking shows to get the best result.
